Places of Worship

Why must we warm our hands at the fires of hope, yet drink so deep from the cup of despair. Well languish no more, for Religion is integral to Jamaican life and Ocho Rios has got you covered, whatever lights your candle.*

Around 60% of followers are Christian which includes Pentecostals, various Churches of God, Baptists, Roman Catholics, and so on.

Roughly 20% of folks follow other religions or creeds and, though this may come as a surprise, Rastafarians represent only a very small number — and not all ‘Rastas’ follow the beliefs, some just live for the vibe!

*That said, the only Synagogues on the island are located at Montego Bay and Kingston, so you might have to set off a little earlier — see bottom of page for more info.
