Meet Anna-Kay

Since Anna-Kay Tomlinson aka Miss T began to give it some serious sizzle back in 2009, her Miss T’s Kitchen has won many an award, gained global fame, and has served a famous face or three over the years.

Authentic Jamaican food done ‘home style’ with lots of love, all the Jamaican favourites, sometimes with a gourmet twist.

Describe a typical working day.

Office and admin work at first... meet with my manager, then off to my favorite place, the kitchen, doing what I absolutely love... create, cook and please. We love to WOW our customers!

Do you serve many tourists or are your customers mainly local?

We are lucky to be blessed with both! Locals leave from as far as Negril to come here and people tell me they plan their vacations around us.

What, if anything else, would you really love to do?

Travel the world... eat food, drink wine. This is what inspires as I love fusions of Jamaican food with countries I have visited.

Your favourite famous customer? Spill the beans...

Levi Roots, my inspiration! We share so much in common... both love Jamaica, the culture and of course the food. My dream is to have cookbooks and products like he has. True to his roots!

What changes to Ocho Rios would you like to see?

A resurgence of the restaurant sector — it used to be so vibrant before the advent of all-inclusive hotels.

Do carrots scream when you chop them?

With joy in anticipation of being added to my famous oxtail!
